September Crusade Photos
A Photo Tour of Oukasie
Kiddies Outreach - July '05

This was our eighth South African Crusade and, like them all, the September Crusade was nothing short of awesome.  To see God touch lives on every imaginable level, in and out, sovereignly by His loving Spirit.  Glory to the Name of Jesus!  The photos tell the story [Crusade Photos] and I've already outlined some specifics in my Travel Journal, but I've just received this email (below) from my African partner, Pastor Martin, that "says it all."

Before I turn you over to Martin, though, thank you so, so much to those of you who supported us in prayer and financially.  You are the ones who "get" that it's all about precious souls, and there is absolutely no sacrifice that is too high.  I praise God for you--thank you!  Here comes Martin! ("Moruti" is Tswana for "pastor").

SUBJECT: A BIG MORUTI THANK YOU

Hello my dear, beloved Moruti Brother.

This is part of the thank you from your brother moruti and the people of Oukasie and the villages surrounding Brits. Moruti, we have so much to share with you after the great success of the September crusade where so many people came to Jesus and because of which the churches are now filled. In all the churches we are now having a problem of running short of chairs, but we are rejoicing as we are sure that there is no running out of chairs at the foot of the cross. My blessed wife, Mama Moruti, has prepared a nice dish for me of your favorite which you gave the name "Moruti Salad," so I am thinking of you more than ever and wanted to give you some Moruti talk...

THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANK YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU!

On behalf of the body of believers here in South Africa and the leadership in general, we want to take this opportunity to thank you  and the supporters of Marchiano Ministries for having the heart to be in our country to help reach the lost souls in Oukasie.  We thank God Almighty for giving you humble and willing hearts that are ready to serve Him especially in these areas where others would not want to be found and seen in. For releasing the resources necessary to host an event of the magnitude of the crusade we just had. We can only give God the glory for all the hard work and efforts  you guys are putting towards the success of these crusades. We are surely witnessing the transformation of victims into victors, with the kingdom of God getting filled with souls that were lost.  We are humbled by your commitment, truthfully.

We thank God for also providing Sister Sharon for the kids. It could only mean commitment and dedication to serve God for her make it through to the kids under the health conditions that she was in. We are praying that God should strengthen her and completely heal her.  God was certainly victorious over those challenges, as you know the Kiddies Crusade was over-running.  The hundreds of children increasing in number every night and now filling the churches, again I am humbled, Moruti.

The house-building and camera projects and computer training school have all been kick started by your visit and attention to them, and we are very excited for we know this will really be a platform of evangelism. We are trusting God to give strength to everyone who is involved in this projects, as you know they work with little resources and we trust God 100%.

Brother, I really believe that the two of us will serve the Lord together in accountability to one another exalting the name of Jesus and proclaiming His love, always. I look forward to getting gray hair together with you my precious brother.  We will laugh on those days for all the years God gave us and all the precious souls.

Now we look forward to the "Weekend of Worship and Thanksgiving" celebration in December.  All are very excited as the announcement has been made in all churches.  And of course the young people feel such value that a special event and service is included in the plans for them.  Your commitment to these young people is transforming their lives brother.  Hope for a future is rushing through them, these who were so hopeless and had only the streets life to look forward to.  I am humbled brother, and the sign ups for the computer school are so many we will need hundreds of computers to accommodate them all, as God will surely provide.

All of us here, leadership and the people, we all love you so much my brother.  I am so excited to have you return so soon in December.  You will see the fruit of this past crusade, the churches filled with the newly saved.  I love you brother Moruti.

There are so many testimonies of dramatic works that God does in people's lives through the Crusades - works of salvation, healing, families restored,  and on and on.  Here are just a couple to share with you.

TESTIMONY OF EMILY LONDILE

I, Emily of village near Brits was HIV positive. I accepted Jesus as my savior during May Crusade which was held in Oukasie. When I attended the Crusade my CD4 Count was 108 and I was very sick and weak, I was always going to the hospital, as I was weak almost every week I had to be admitted.  I was also diagnosed with TB and took TB treatments.

One night during the Crusade, in the service I attended prayer for sick people and I was prayed for.  After the Crusade I started attending the church with Pastor Martin as Pastor.  I was also prayed for.

To my surprise last week Friday, 17 June as I went for my weekly check-up at the hospital, I was told that I no longer have TB and my CD4 count is 500. My liver problem is also healed.

With this I just want people to realize that God is there and if you put your trust upon him, nothing is impossible. I now feel healthy and am no longer weak.

                                        TESTIMONY OF THLOKWE

In the early 80’s while I was still at school I was ill often. My parents took me to the doctor and to witch doctors. One of the sangomas (witch doctors) told my parents that your son will only be healed if he commits to training as a sangoma.  After years of struggling with the illness I agreed to go for training.  I went to initiation school (Thwasa) which I completed.

I was taught to read fortunes in the throwing of bones, and look into the future and solve people's problems.  I was taught to throw down the bones on the mat and put fear in people‘s hearts to make them believe things that I make up and tell them.  They would also buy protection of their household against attacks from other witches (Theya motse) through curses and spells.  I was taught to mix different kinds of terrible things (muti) for various diseases and problems affecting daily lives, such as broken marriages, recovering stolen property, removing bad luck, spiritual cleansing of houses.

Although I went to initiation school now I realize that it was tricks from the sangoma in order to get a lot of money (the school is very costly and the fee for the completion ritual was R600 for each initiate).  What they did during the completion ceremony, they slaughtered the goat and you have to drink the blood.

I was then sent home to open my profession.  What worried me a lot was that even though I became a sangoma I was still not healed as I was told. I still have the same problem as before. After 7 years I began to regret my practice as a sangoma and performing rituals and promising people lies that I make up.  I took all my family and we went to the Crusade in Oukasie village.  The next day I BURNED AND DESTROYED ALL THE EVIL THINGS THAT I USED FOR MY PRACTICE.

PASTOR BRUCE THANK YOU FOR THE SERMON ON THE LOVE OF JESUS THAT I HEARD THAT NO MATTER HOW DIRTY I WAS, JESUS HAND WAS STRETCHED OUT TO ME IN MY LIFE. GOD BLESS YOU PASTOR BRUCE.

After accepting Jesus, my whole family lives change.  What now surprises me is that I never have symptoms of the illness now.  The terrible dreams and seeing terrible things in the night that I was having for many years are now gone.  Although I was told by my former trainer that if you reject the practice of sangoma you will die, I am alive, well, and I have enrolled for Bible school in the year 2006.  I just want the Lord Jesus to help me to serve him. In conclusion I thank almighty God for his continuation of protecting me and my family for ever and ever.  Thank you.
