It is no mystery that we live in a broken world where broken things--things that were never God's perfect intent for any of us--befall all of us in one way or another and at one time or the other.  We receive emails daily that stand as evidence of this heartbreaking reality--failing relationships, failing health, failing circumstances, failing one's self...  Even as this is being written there is a baby on life support, a beloved mother writhing in dementia, a wife left for another, a teenage girl who just discovered she's pregnant...  Oh Father, we need Your mercy!
